Sarah Ashley Jones

President

Sarah Ashley Jones is a senior at San Diego State University majoring in Liberal Studies. As a current preschool teacher, Sarah loves working with students of all ages. Her involvement in SCTA has helped Sarah develop a passion for advocating, not just for teachers, but for students as well. When she’s not in the classroom, Sarah loves to travel – her most recent travel spots are Thailand and Japan!

Daniel Shaw

Secretary

Daniel Shaw is a senior at SDSU and is majoring in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in elementary education. After graduation, he hope to join the Peace Corps and do humanitarian work during his gap year. He has an adorable golden retriever named Marley and an addiction to bean and cheese burritos.

Alexa Lawrence

Treasurer

Alexa Lawrence is a second-year Liberal Studies student at San Diego State University where she hopes to develop her skills as a future educator. When she’s not in the classroom, Alexa enjoys relaxing with a good book and a strong cup of coffee. You can also find her spending time with her family and 3 lively dogs.

Sierra Frank

Vice President of Membership

Sierra Frank is a proud transfer student who is currently in her senior year at SDSU pursuing her degree in Liberal Studies, with an emphasis in mathematics. She looks forward to one day teach upper elementary or middle school. Sierra loves all things outdoors, whether it’s hiking, camping, or swimming in the ocean.

Therese Hermann

Board Administrator

Therese Hermann is a transfer student in the Liberal Studies program. She is studying elementary education with a focus in science. In her free time, you’ll find her hiking, reading, or playing video games. She will be graduating from SDSU this spring and is excited to begin a career in education!

Aliyah Michel

Vice President of Community Outreach

Aliyah Michel is a senior at SDSU is majoring in Liberal Studies Elementary Education with a focus in Mathematics. She plans on becoming an Education Specialist and earning my Special Education Credential through the mild/moderate program. She wants to become an educator because she loves working with students and seeing the progress they can make throughout the school year.
